Another tribute album from Dwell
Records, this time the turn is for Judas Priest.
Twelve bands cover twelve diamonds from Judas Priest.
Now with the re-union and the new album from them, it was
a good time to hear some classics songs played by other bands.
This tribute was a surprise to me, for example the album begins
with Cage and Freewheel Burning, a band that
you can understand from miles away that their biggest influence
is Judas Priest. Then we have Burning Inside
and Green Manalishi, personally i didn't knew this
band, but they impressed me because they give more groove
and more death metal version in this track. Then we have Speeed
and Grinder, personally i didn't like so much this
cover, i don't know why but from the first time i hear this
track i didn't like. After that i will go to the Devil's
Child from Acheron, a very interesting cover, because
Acheron is a black metal band and this track is for
them. Besides that the vocals aren't so extreme, but at least
something interesting and after Acheron, we have best
track in my opinion in this tribute. Seven Witches
with their old singer, don't forget that this tribute released
in 2000 and "Diamonds and Rust", no words,
the best track in this tribute, I write it again but i can't
write how much i adore this track from Seven Witches.
Then we have another black metal version of "Screaming
for vengeance" from Blood Coven. Generally,
Dwell Records achieve to release another quality tribute
album, even if for my opinion their tribute to Mayhem,
is so far the best and i don't know if another tribute will
overtake it. But the future we will tell us.
