Another
tribute album from Dwell Records, this time we have
the masters of heavy metal, this time is the turn for the
mighty Black Sabbath, i want to include that
i had the opportunity to see them live here in Greece for
first time with the original line-up and it was a dream come
true. Any way, back to this tribute, you will have the chance
to hear twelve tracks from Black Sabbath and
i can say that the half albums are well known in the metal
scene. As you can see the most bands comes from the extreme
side of metal, like Acheron and Vital Remains
who comes from the black metal side, Vile from the
death metal but actually this thing gives another interest
in the final result. The album begins with Evoken and
Snowblind and with Evil Incarnate and Symptom
of the Universe, i think are the weakest covers in this
release. I will begin with the Cephalic Carnage and
Hand of Doom, the band really did a great cover in
this track, even if Cephalic Carnage isn't my cup of
tea, they make an interesting cover adding their personal
sound. Another great cover is from Acheron and Black
Sabbath, the band keeps the doomy atmosphere and add some
black metal vocals and here we have an interesting combination
after that we have a death metal version of Lord of this
World from Vile, with a lot of groove elements
and not the extreme death metal that we have used to from
this band. Last but not least we have the best track in this
tribute, Vital Remains and War Pigs, an eight
minutes epus from Black Sabbath and from Vital Remains,
with interesting ideas from them. I wish i had hear the Hell
Rules 1 in order to compare it with the Hell
Rules 2.
