Syrens
Call has
almost ten years of existence and "Against Wind and
Tide" is their newest mini CD with their new female
singer Soraya. In this release the band included five
tracks, of which three of them are new ones, 'Aquatic Coma'
is a 2006 version and they have covered one of the famous
tracks from Depeche Mode, 'Enjoy the Silence'.
Before
we will go inside the music from Syrens Call, I should
admit that I was impressed by them, because they shared the
stage with acts like: Ark, Within Temptation,
Threshold, Vanden Plas and many
more. Every time you do live shows with these bands it is
a step forward for your career.
Now
musically the band walks in the power / progressive metal
paths, with a lot of melodies but also some powerful moments
inside their songs. Most of their compositions are well worked
with very impressive ideas and it seems that after all these
years, Syrens Call have found their personal sound
and they have included it in every single track.
In
my opinion, even if I haven't heard the first edition of this
track, I loved 'Aquatic Coma', personally I believe
it was the best track along with'Your Soul is Mine'.
I am really interested in hearing their album when it is ready.
I want to hear how the band will sound in a full length release.
