I
had the thought that Scandinavian countries had the right
to perform folk metal, or should I say that we are used to
hearing bands from these countries play this kind of metal.
Svartsot
comes from Denmark and "Svundne Tider" is
their latest demo CD which includes four tracks and almost
thirteen minutes of folk / black metal. The demo starts with
a very impressive track: "Jotunheimsfaerden"
which takes us straight into the world of Svartsot.
Another
impressive thing is the very good production and sound that
we have in this demo. Actually you will be able to hear clearly
all the things that the band included in their well written
compositions which have some very impressive ideas.
Last
but not least, I strongly believe that Svartsot can
stand next to the "giants" of this kind of metal.
They have all the things that a fan of folk metal would like
to hear.
