Last
year I was really impressed by the latest album from Riverside,
a Polish band. When I received this album from Progrock
records and I see that Sandstone comes from Poland,
I didn't expected that this country will have two very good
progressive metal acts.
Every
time that I receive a release from Progrock records,
I'm never disappointed because this label simply collect very
carefully the bands that they feel really deserve to have
a deal. So it is the time to hear the stuff from Sandstone.
The title of this, debut album, is "Looking for Myself",
a very powerful title but I think it fits perfectly with the
music from Sandstone.
Even
if this album has six tracks it reaches almost an hour of
the progressive heaven of Sandstone. Also we can say
that this is a concept album and the band says to us the story
of a young man that searches for love.
So
in this album you will expect to hear a very good combination
of progressive metal and Sandstone's personal approach.
Actually the band had found the perfect mix with their influences
and their personal touches in order to give us a great piece
of work. Of course as with most progressive album it isn't
the easiest album to start your day with, but definitely if
you get into the music of Sandstone you will be rewarded
with all the emotions and feelings that they included in their
music.
