I
had received a demo from The River before two years
almost and i must say that i had impressed from their music.
After that i hadn't hear something from them until before
some days that i received your second demo CD with the title
"Different Was to be Haunted" in which you
can find three tracks. The first thing that you must notice
from this demo is that The River is one of the few
bands who has female vocals, so this is a really interesting
thing. I must admit that Vicky has done a very good
work in her section. Because lately i received two releases
from UK doom metal bands, i can see the difference between
the bands and the music. For example in the case of The
River, you can see that they have many years in the music
scene and you can hear that their compositions are well worked
with interesting ideas and a very good sound so you can have
the opportunity to hear clearly all the things that the band
want to give us. I truly don't know what this band haven't
a label yet, i think that Rise Above should
check them more carefully; they have a lot to give to the
doom metal scene. If i like their debut demo once then i adore
twice their second one and i believe we will hear from them
really soon and not in two years from now. Every fan of doom
metal should support The River. Check them out and
purchase their demo.
