I
don't know how many of you, know this Norwegian band, but
so far they have released three demos starting back in 1999.
Philomel's Epitaph have members from Norwegian bands
as Urgehal, Asmegin and Illnath.
Personally i haven't heard the stuff from Urgehal
and Asmegin, i only know Illnath.
So
in this demo CD the band had included three tracks and fifteen
minutes of pure black metal music with some elements from
death metal just for a change. I believe this movement, to
have black and death metal elements, made the stuff from Philomel's
Epitaph to be more attractive to more people in the extreme
side of metal music.
Generally
it was an average demo CD, with some good moments but also
with some mistakes, personally i expected to have a more clear
sound than the sound that has this demo, but at least the
guys had done a very good work compared with other releases.
