From
Norway usually i receive releases from the extreme metal side
or from the gothic / rock side. This time was a surprise for
me, Sound Riot Records, send to me the second
album from Gaia Epicus, with the title "Symphony
of Glory" which released in the end of July. Musically
the band walks in the speed / power Metal paths, like Dragonforce
but with smaller tracks and of course smaller guitar solos.
Dragonforce had write huge guitar solos, by
the way have you heard their latest album? First of all the
band have some guest musicians in this album which are: Lars
Larsen (Highland Glory) on keyboards and
vocals on "Be thy Cross my Victory" by Jan
Grefstad (Highland Glory) and Isabell
Oversveen. By the way "Be thy Cross my Victory"
and "Symphony of Glory" are the best tracks
in this album and with "Time and Space",
"Miracles" and "Wings of Freedom"
the five highlights from this album. I hadn't the chance to
hear their debut album so i don't know if they have already
make a progress but for sure "Symphony of Glory"
is an above average album from Gaia Epicus. For sure
the fans of power / speed metal will adore the music from
them and i hope they will continue to release quality albums
like this one.
