Elegeion
comes from the far away land of Australia, even if they have
a good enough metal scene there, i didn't receive so many
demos or promos from this country, but this time is the turn
for Elegeion and with their new album with the title
"The Last Moment" which will be released
in the mid of August through Dark Symphonies.
First of all we have a selling point which is the artwork
by Travis Smith of Katatonia, Death
and Opeth. Besides that we have the music of
Elegeion, when i saw the info sheet from the label,
it said that we will have a black doom release but when i
hear the album i think that maybe we have a mistake here.
Of course the band has some doom metal elements and some few
black metal elements, but it isn't the whole album like that.
We have also a lot of melodies, with beautiful female vocals
and a very nice atmosphere with the help from the keyboards.
I can say that Elegeion has a lot of gothic metal elements
in their music too. Don't forget that "The last moment"
is their third album so far and i believe that the band knows
very well what sound wants to have as the final result. I
think you can describe Elegeion as a dark metal band
than a black / doom metal. But in the other hand these are
just labels, the most important thing is the music and personally
i am satisfied with the stuff that i hear from this album.
