I know two members from Benedictum from their previous band, Malady. Actually i know Veronica, the singer and Pete the guitar player. To be honest with you, after i had heard their work with Malady, i haven't any further connection with the band and suddenly i receive a demo CD from an American band with the name Benedictum a few months ago.

When i searched a little bit in my database i saw the connection and now Veronica sent me their debut album which was released last month through Locomotive Records. The band's latest record is titled "Uncreation" and they have included eleven tracks; two of them being covers of two well known songs from Black Sabbath.

The band musically walks in the US heavy metal paths with some influences from Seven Witches and Metal Church, but above all they had achieved to have their personal sound in this album. So you will able to hear some really impressive guitar work, with a powerful voice from Veronica and a great rhythm section.

Their compositions are well developed with some very interesting ideas inside them, and the thing that i adore was the fact that Benedictum added their own personal touch inside the songs from Black Sabbath. They didn't just play it but used their "Benedictum" sound.

If you like heavy / power metal you should hear the album from Benedictum and i am sure you will find a lot of tunes that you will adore.

SCORE out of 8.8/10 Antonis Maglaras
