If
you read my reviews the past years you have already understand
that i adore the metal music from Finland but the past few
months i receive also some really quality releases from Holland.
Recently i had reviewed the new album from Whispering
Gallery and Her Enchantment. Now it
was the time for the latest self financed release from Another
Messiah. The album has the title "Dark dreams,
my child" and you can find nine songs and more than
forty five minutes of pure doom metal music.
Another Messiah is a new born band, they formed back
in 2003 and after a mini- CD they released this album so you
can see that they have made a great progress during these
two years. As most of the modern doom metal bands, Another
Messiah had included some death metal elements mostly
at the vocals but the result is really impressive. Their compositions
are well worked with very interesting ideas and the secret
for the success of Another Messiah is the use of oboe,
i think this movement had give to the band another atmosphere.
Beside
the fact that Another Messiah is a good band and they
have worked a lot for this result, the addition of the oboe
makes this release more attractive. Generally the stuff from
Another Messiah made me want to hear it again and again
because i see a band with a very good future if they will
continue to work and to have such good ideas. I am sure that
the fans of doom metal will find some very interesting elements
in this album.
