Amartia
comes from France and two months ago they released their third
album so far through Thundering Records with the title
"Marionette". In this album the band included
nine tracks and more than fifty minutes of pure gothic / atmospheric
metal with a touch of progressive rock too.
The
first thing that I liked in Amartia's stuff, after
the music of course, was the fact that they used both English
and French languages in their lyrics. Personally I adore the
bands that choose to have some or all their songs in their
mother tongue, I found it really magical even if I don't understand
a single word.
Now
back to the music, the band wrote some good compositions with
very interesting ideas inside them. Even if they walk in a
common musical path they didn't stay in the classic elements
of gothic / atmospheric metal but they have expanded their
music direction by putting in some progressive touches.
I
believe that the more open minded metal fans will adore the
stuff from Amartia, personally I had a great time with
this album and definitely I will listen to it again in the
future.
