I am really proud for Act of Gods because back in 2002 I had the chance to hear their debut demo CD with the title "Dies Irae". Back then for sure I didn't expected that after four years, I will have the chance again to hear, this time, their second full length album with the title "Maat".

The band has in their ranks the former bass player of the French legendary death metal band Mutilated. In their newest release, Act of Gods included ten tracks plus one Terrorizer cover. Also if you put the CD into your CD-rom drive you will see a live video of the song "Cathedral of Flesh".

In their newest album the band decided to have a concept album about Quantum Physics, due to the fact that I don't have the lyrics, I can't say more things about this issue.

The band had started this album with a small intro and from the second song; they unleash their brutal death metal assault. First you will hear an extreme, aggressive and guttural voice and then you will hear the excellent work that the band had done in the guitars which give us some really impressive riffing and remarkable solos.

Even if I like more the progressive side of death metal, if I exclude the vocals, I really enjoy the music itself that the band included in their album and definitely if the vocals were a little bit more "softer" the album would be a favorite for me.

SCORE out of 8.3/10 Antonis Maglaras
